iPhone so far

The iPhone, one week in:
  • The battery doesn't last as long as I want it to, but that's true with every cell phone I've had.
  • The applications store is addictive, though I've yet to install an application that costs money. I'm concerned about filling my 8G device up too quickly, so I tend to be judicious with my downloads. And I'm cheap. Luckily, there are plenty of terrific free apps, like UrbanSpoon.
  • I've put about 300 songs on it. It's so great not to have to carry my iPod to work every day.
  • The texting function is awesome because "conversations" appear in talk bubbles. Adorable.
  • The phone design is very intuitive. There's not much hunting for stuff on these babies.
  • The Internet is VERY fast when its on a wifi network. I like that the Web sites look like the actual Web pages instead of looking like the bastardized, weirdo text versions that appeared on my old Treo.
  • The reception is a little spotty in places and calls get dropped more than I expected. Still, when it works, which is most of the time, it works really well.
  • Typing words can be a challenge if your fingers aren't used to it. And at times the function is slower than I am, so the words take a little longer to appear than I would like.
  • Truly, it's the best cell phone I've ever had. The boyfriend (who also has one) agrees with this, too. Though he says his needs a Hello Kitty flashing antenna charm. "That would truly put it over the edge," he just said. I wish he were kidding.
